M.A.M. Ramaswamy, the co-founder and chairman of the Chettinad Group of Companies, passed away at the age of 84 on December 2, 2015. He died in a private hospital while undergoing treatment for multiple health issues, including kidney failure and liver damage.
Ramaswamy was also serving as the Pro-Chancellor of Annamalai University. His death marks the end of an era for the Chettinad Group, which has been a significant player in the industries of cement, education, and other sectors.
