Facebook has acquired Little Eye Labs, an Indian startup focused on Android app performance analysis, for around $10 million to $15 million. This marks Facebook's first acquisition of an Indian company. Little Eye Labs’ team will join Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, to work on improving the performance of mobile apps using Facebook’s infrastructure.
The acquisition aligns with Facebook’s efforts to strengthen its mobile strategy, which has lagged behind competitors like Twitter. With 874 million of Facebook’s 1.19 billion users accessing the platform on mobile devices, this deal is aimed at enhancing app development.
Little Eye Labs' acquisition also marks a significant milestone for India's startup ecosystem, highlighting the increasing global potential of Indian tech companies. GSF, a startup accelerator, praised the deal as a validation of the growing strength of Indian product startups on the global stage. Little Eye Labs' Android customers will receive updates on a free version of their tool until June 30, 2014.
