India’s army chief, General Bikram Singh, warned Pakistan of retaliation for the killing of two Indian soldiers in Kashmir. The soldiers were reportedly beheaded by Pakistani forces during fighting along the disputed border. Singh emphasized India's right to retaliate, calling the beheading "gruesome" and urging his commanders to be aggressive if provoked. Despite rising tensions, analysts believe full-scale escalation is unlikely. Both countries have blamed each other for ceasefire violations, but Singh’s remarks appear aimed at maintaining troop morale and responding to public anger, especially regarding the mutilation of the soldiers’ bodies.
